Fresh Eggs anyone?

It has become a trendy past time to raise your own chickens for eggs. I don't have the want to raise chickens or the land. I have, however, wanted to try fresh eggs. I have heard that they are better than their store bought competition.

A friend of mine is raising her own chickens. She sold me a dozen organic fresh laid eggs. The kids and I had them. I will have to agree! They are smaller but much richer in flavor.

First day to school

The kids had a great first day as did mommy with an empty house.

The funny story of the day is that Baby boy told me he had a good day. He liked school, made friends, and loved his teacher. This was all well and good until baby girl came out of her class and announced that her teacher was an ex-clown and that she did magic in her lessons.

Baby boy burst out with tears and wailed, "My teacher doesn't do magic!"

Vacation

This video was taken the same day he was sick. His fever broke so we allowed him to leave the cabin. He got chosen to go up on stage. It made up for missing the beach. It is really cute and worth the watch. We laughed the whole time.

They didn't provide us with the magic 5 dollars. Someone else gave baby girl a "magic quarter" too. So the magic quarter cost us 25 dollars (5 for baby boy, 5 for baby girl, and 15 for the video)

His fever broke and he was happy his sister bought him some souvenirs. When his fever broke he could smile.

Baby boy was really sick the day we got to Cozumel. His fever was 103 so mommy and baby boy stayed on the boat. Cuddling was nice. We visited the ship doctor and she gave him some antibiotics for a sinus infection.
Daddy and Baby girl went to the beach for the day.

The Mayan Ruins were super cool! We were super hot but it was wonderful to get to see it. The kids loved that they got to see something that was around before Jesus was born.

Fancy night. Baby girl wanted to try on my dress before I got dressed.

Dancing like crazy!

The Cruise takes off!

We took a steam boat on the Mississippi river. We also wondered around the French Quarter while avoiding Bourbon street in New Orleans.

We went to Mardi Gras world. The kids loved the floats and dressing up.

A new home for Goldie & Scarf

The old tank was falling apart. It was a cheap one that I bought thinking she would live only a few months instead of a few years.
The kids liked this one because it changes colors. It has a led light under it that you can pick red, orange, blue, green, or purple. It is really pretty at night.
The first photo I took with the lights off with the flash. It turned out bright as day and didn't show the light. The second is the same but with the flash off. I could get a clear photo but it shows what it looks like to us in the dark. The third is with the lights on.

Baby boy saw some yarn while we were looking for a new tank for Goldie. He loved it and asked for a scarf. Baby girl has one made by her aunt Bekah and one from me. He doesn't have one. I said yes while wondering if there is another person alive that wants a scarf in the 102 degree weather.

VBS

Last week our kids visited our old church for VBS. A friend of ours sent me these photos. Baby girl was there too but they don't have a kid her age so she is isn't in these photos. I appreciate what she shared!

They both love seeing their old friends. They had participated in this same themed VBS in June. They had the benefit of confirming the lessons here.

Great weekend

This was the weekend of family. On Saturday I got together with my extended family and some friends who are like family. We went to Dave and Busters.

On Sunday I got together with my birth family. We had a lovely time at my brother and sister-in-laws house.

I feel blessed to have both families in my life.
