Vacuum

I love to vacuum. I know that is weird but I love to watch the machine suck up big pieces of trash.

In March or April we purchased a new vacuum. I did some research and the dirt devil I had received the best in home reviews.

Today the funniest thing happened. I was vacuuming and the dog was playing with her toys. The vacuum sucked up the dog's tennis ball. I had to work hard to get it out. I was impressed with the power.

Our Babies

Baby boy has his last t-ball game next Sunday. He is really looking forward to next season already. His swing has gotten much stronger over the season.

Baby girl had her first day of elective summer school. She is taking two hours of art and 2 hours of a Reading and Math class. I thought she would like art better but she like the other class the best. She said they were both really fun!

Aunt Leatha was in town visiting. We all love her very much. We got to have dinner with her tonight.

Today baby boy was napping. When he woke up he wanted to cuddle. I was in the shower. When I got out this is what I found.

Recital day

The recital went really well. She did wonderful and is ready to start the next season. Baby boy said he might try dance next year. One of the other mom's took this picture of the two of us tonight. This is the first time I really see that she looks anything like me.

Recital practice pictures

Here is pictures of baby girls dress rehearsal.

I took baby girls hair out of the bun. I thought it looked so pretty just folling down wet. This is how it fell. She looks so grown up!

I am Spartacus!

Hi, Hubby/Daddy here. Baby boy was pretty wired today, probably somewhat because of baby girl's sleepover last night. Anyway, he repeated the following facts to us at least 5 times each today about Sportacus of Lazytown fame:

1) Sportacus always eats his fruits and vegetables.
2) Whenever he eats to much candy he has a "sugar meltdown" (complete with falling to the floor demonstration)
3) Did I mention that Sportacus always eats his fruits and vegetables?

He repeated these facts so often and so enthusiastically that we had to try really hard not to laugh at him, since we already made that mistake once today and made him embarrassed. He wanted to be like Sportacus so bad that he voluntarily cleaned his bedroom and the sunroom, an unprecedented development since his, well, birth. He had a nap this afternoon so tonight he was even more wound up than before if that's possible. It's about 10 PM and I think that MAYBE he's actually asleep right now. Wife/Mommy said "He talks even more than me, if I talked that much you probably wouldn't have married me." I replied that that might have been true if all she talked about was Sportacus :) I think it is only appropriate to end this post with a picture of baby boy in his Sportacus costume the other day:

Sleepover madness

Tonight is the last sleep over. The only casualty was baby boy got a busted nose in all the excitement. He is feeling life is unfair because he wants to sleep with the girls. We all watched "Hook" together and the girls cuddled on my tummy. Baby boy wanted his picture taken separately.

Another

A friend of mine asked me about my daughters last day of school. This is the letter I wrote to her minus baby girls name. I decided I would share it with all of you.

Baby girl had a great last day. They don't do kindergarten graduation at our school. She is my social butterfly. I would have killed to be her when I was her age. She walked through the hall and every kid from another class called her name. She ignored them. She was trying to get back to class without getting in trouble. (I feel she should have made a small wave or something.) She is such a rules follower.

She had a sleep over at a friends house Saturday. She had a play date after school today. She has a sleep over tomorrow and and friend sleeping over on Saturday.

In general Baby Girl is good at being kind to others. I really hope this lasts. I don't know if you know this song. It is beautiful. I want my kids know this:

If I could tell the world just one thing / it would be that we’re all okay / and not to worry ’cause worry is wasteful / and useless in times like these / I won’t be made useless / I won’t be id
Th despair / I’ll gather myself around my faith / for light does the darkness most fear

My hands are small, I know / but they’re not yours, / they are my own / but they’re not yours, / they are my own / and I am never broken

Poverty stole your golden shoes / it didn’t steal your laughter / and heartache came to visit me / but I knew it wasn’t ever after / we will fight not out of spite / for someone must stand up fo

Today was the Last day of School!

Baby girl,
It has been wonderful watching you grow this year. It has been a pleasure watching your mind explode with this year's worth of information. You're a beautiful soul. Mommy and daddy are so proud of you.

I HATE WALMART!

I know I just screamed my title at you. I meant to because this is how much I hate Walmart.

My husband decided he wanted to try and make a white Russian. He went into the kitchen and there were little black ants crawling on the counter. This happened between doing dishes and the drink being made an hour later.

He sprayed the ants with the non-toxic ant killer, then created his drink.

I came into the kitchen and the ants were still laying in their death pools. I saw a few more ants staggering around.

I asked hubby if we had any more ant killer. No. I needed to venture to the store since he was drinking and were were out of all our insectiscide.

I climbed into the car and looked at the clock. It was nearing 9 pm. I thought quickly of all the places that would be open, then quickly realized that the only place that would have a selection would be Walmart. (groan)

I pulled into the Walmart parking lot. The spaces were packed. I saw people coming out of the store. I smiled, surprised not to see women with curlers in their hair and barefoot men. Everyone looked conventional.

I pulled into a parking spot. I walked into the store and grabbed my shopping cart. I started walking though the store and wondered why the loud racket. Oh crap, I thought, it was my cart. I continued on because I was in a hurry.

As I shopped I noticed cans of Pringles on the ground, clothes covered the isles, and carts full of product abandoned.

I tried to hurry because the lines were all 6 people deep. I decided to grab a few odds and ends while I was there. (rolls eyes at self)

Jump ahead and I payed and was leaving the store. I walked to the exit. There was a lady sitting at that end of the store. She said, "Sorry you can't go out this door." I said, "My car is parked out that exit." She shrugged.

I walked to the other side of the store fuming. I looked over to my side of the parking lot. There were no lights and numerous cars. I feared for my safety.

I trudged on to my car. My gaze fell on a little old lady. She was limping as she grasped her basket. The parking lot was imposing. I slowed down as she wobbled to her car. I was relieved that she was parked next to me.

We spoke as we loaded our groceries into our vehicles. How dare they not warn us.

http://walmartwatch.com/ I have not liked Walmart for years. They mistreat their employees, their customers, and their vendors.

Car Trouble

Saturday my check engine light came on. The car started shaking. We took my car to the shop and 1000 dollars later we got my car back. Thank the Lord that this didn't happen on our way to or from Memphis last week!
