A child's understanding

Baby girl was a month and a week out from being born on the day the twin towers fell. We talked about it Bin Laden's death this morning.  I feared she might hear about it at school.

I asked her what she knew about  knew of 9/11 or if she remembered any previous conversations. She recounted the story. 

I told her that he was the person in charge of the bad guys. I told her he was no longer in the world, they announced he died yesterday. She said "instead of putting on his grave 'rest in peace' they should say 'think about the choices you made in life'."

That's my girl.
