Best Friends for Ever

Yesterday baby boy came home from school grumpy. I think he is having a hard time adjusting to the schedule.

We put him down to bed at 7pm every night. He falls asleep right away and has a hard time waking up in the morning.

He had a 2 year old melt down about a drawing desk his Bana gave him and his sister. She was using one and he decided it was his. When she refused to give it to him he ran with her paper that she was drawing on.

During time out we heard him talking out loud saying exactly what happened. He was giving a blow by blow to and empty room. I asked him who he was talking to and he said God.

After he spent some time in time out and calmed down you would not know it was the same kid. He came into the living room and asked his sister to play in a Christmas activity book with him. They played.

I overheard him ask his sister if they could work hard at not arguing or fighting because that wasn't a kind thing to do. He said he would love her forever and didn't like disagreeing with her. They agreed to try their best to behave like best friends.

We went to dinner and they asked to sit next together. They hugged and kissed the entire time we waited for the food to be delivered to the table. They held hands and talked about how much they loved each other.

How did I get so lucky to have these wonderful children?

We do have wonderful children, but last night was a little weird even for them :)
